Politics Heating up

The national political landscape continues to intrigue me on many levels. Donald Trump talking loud and letting his real feelings come out. Most of the candidates would never do that, but follow Trump's poll numbers and his statements are even more disturbing. Meanwhile back at the White House, President Obama continues to knock them out of the park. Last week it was the Affordable Care Act and Gay marriage. This week it's restoring relations with Cuba. He will go down in history as a great President who got positive things done.

Independence Day 2015

My son Eric is among the many young men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces. I look upon him with an enormous sense of pride. We are fortunate to have people like him and his comrades protecting our freedom both at home and abroad. The world had better be glad that there is a United States military. Otherwise life for us all would be very different. So take out a moment and salute a soldier. Thank him or her for their service and then enjoy your 4th of July.

Happy Birthday Eric Whitlow

31 years ago my son Eric Whitlow was born July 6, 1984 at Champlain Valley Physicans Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y. What a great day it was, Eric is now a Sergent in the United States Army stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. He has served three tours of duty in the middle east in Iraq,  and Afghanistan. A soldiers, soldier. He has grown up to be a really responsible, and outstanding adult. Very proud of you young man. Keep up the great work.

SAE Dragon Awards.

Congratulations to students and staff at the SAE School on their successful end of the year academic awards and achievements. Really a great group of people doing some fabulous things. Keep up the good work.

It's Been A Great Summer.

Wow. What an action packed summer it has been. Cindi and I went to some great concerts including Stephanie Mills and the Whispers. Then it was Chicago and Earth, Wind, and Fire. Then wrapping up the summer we went to see Brian Culberson and Eric Benet. Stephanie is still of great voice, Phillip Bailey is still hitting the high notes with EWF, and Chicago's horns have never been better. The only thing missing that night was Maurice White, and Peter Cetera, but somewhere I am sure they are sitting back and very proud of the foundation they laid. The Whispers  seemed to be a little off their game the night we saw them, but Jazz genius Brian Culberson continues to awe the crowd with his incredible jazz talent. Atlanta is a great place for many things, and it's summer concert schedule is second to none.

2015. What A Year!

Needless to say 2015 was an incredible year.

Let's see.. there was traveling, new responsibilities, and last but certainly not least, a marriage. Yep after all these years Cindi and I decided to make it official. As I said in our vows. "The arc of our lives always seemed to bend towards each other." We have a great love story that was often misunderstood by everyone except the two of us. We are in a great place at a great time. I so look forward to the future.

Summer Looms On The Horizon.

Hard to know exactly what to expect for the upcoming summer months, but I will most certainly share the events using this platform. I absolutely look forward to returning to my hometown of Michigan City, Indiana and attending my 45th high school reunion. Back in 1971 we had a graduating class of over 900. The herd has thinned out quite a bit which is why I think they started having the reunion every five years. That's just my theory. I look forward to seeing those of us who are still on this side of the grass. Just a little humor there.
